The Khan-led government has achieved a milestone by inaugurating the Kartarpur Corridor and opening the doors of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur for Indian Sikh pilgrims.
With visa-free access, pilgrims can now visit the resting place of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion.
Daily thousands of Pilgrims will be accommodated here to perform their religious rituals.
Pakistan set a landmark by opening the four kilometer long corridor and has sent out a message of peace and tolerance to the world.
Pilgrims will be charged $20 each under service charges. Though, they will be exempted from paying the charges on the day of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
After their immigration process is completed, the pilgrims will reach the Gurdwara by bus through the 4 km-long Corridor.
Indian actor turned politician Sunny Doel announced on Friday 8th November — 2019 that he will be part of the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor which was to held on November 9 — 2019.
Indian News agency ANI quoted the BJP MP saying, “If I won’t go, who will? I’ll definitely go. It is my area and my home.”
Doel is not the only notable Indian who will be in attendance for the ceremony.
As it was announced in media; that the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh and Ministers Hardeep Puri and Harsimrat Kaur Badal will also be in attendance.
Congress lawmaker Navjot Singh Sidhu was also given political clearance to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib by the foreign ministry on Thursday November 7 — 2019.
