PESHAWAR: On Tuesday at 25th December 2018 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), like other parts of the country; the Christian community celebrated Christmas.

The Churches in the province were decorated in Peshawar and Christmas prayers were offered for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

Men, women, children and old age persons visited different churches to celebrate the Christmas day.

They also decorated their homes with balloons, lights and with many other things showing Christmas celebrations. The Churches including All Saints Church, Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cathedral Church, and Saint Michael Catholic Church were decorated on the occasion. Security was also positioned at the entrance of all churches.

The Civil Societies members said that Pakistan is a Muslim country where minorities enjoy religious freedom. They said Pakistan was passing through critical circumstances wherein schools, mosques, imam bargas and churches and religious places of minorities were targeted by terrorists but now the situation was better than before and everyone was happy.

They said that wicked designs of anti-state elements could be defeated by unity and religious harmony.
