NEW DELHI: (Christian Times) – Renowned religious seminary of India Darul Uloom Deoband has issued a fatwa declaring it against Islamic law for women to wear bangles from men.

The fatwa has been issued by the seminary in response to a written question from a person. An Indian Muslim had asked the seminary if it was okay for a Muslim woman to let a man touch her hand for wearing bangles.

The fatwa says that it was a grave sin and women must avoid it under any condition.

It is pertinent to mention here that Darul Uloom Deoband has previously issued fatwas for women against getting their hair and eyebrows trimmed, wearing jeans or mini skirt and working in a gender neutral environment as well.
