MUZAFFARABAD: (Christian Times) – The bill to declare Ahmadis as non-Muslims was presented in Azad Kashmir’s Legislative Assembly and accepted unanimously.

As the joint session of the house began under the headship of Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Interim Constitution (12th Amendment) Act 2018 bill was presented by Law Minister Raja Nisar Ahmad. The report of the committee on bills was presented in the session and the amendment document was read to the house after which the house was opened for the debate.

Addressing the session on the occasion, PM Raja Farooq Haider said that the approval of the bill had clearly distinguished Muslims from non-Muslims as the ‘hypocrites’ had been separated through this legislation. He said that the Ahmadis laid the trap very carefully and claimed that the community had enjoyed great influence in Pakistan.

Haider said that the People’s Party government in 1973 had also been pressured against a similar amendment in Pakistan’s constitution. He announced that the Ahmadis will have to be given their separate identity now and they wouldn’t be allowed to use Muslims worship places.
