BANNU: (Christian Times) – Christian community has on Sunday protested against district jail superintendent Samiullah Khan for having allegedly sexually harassed a maid named Ayesha Masih, wife of Abbas Masih.

Addressing the protest rally, Ayesha told that they worked at the central jail as sweeping staff. “Few days ago, Samiullah Khan asked my husband to send me into his room for sweeping it but then asked me to lock the door and massage him. When I refused to do so telling him that it was immoral and not a part of her duty, the superintendent tried to force me by pulling my hand and sexually harassed me. I fled the room to save my honour”, she said.

She added that she had sent a written complaint to Inspector General (IG) of Jails in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) upon which the superintendent first jailed her along with husband and then issued show-cause notice claiming that he wasn’t satisfied with their performance and that action will be taken against the couple.

The victim told that the jailer had threatened to remove her and her husband from the job for reaching out to the media. She demanded that KP Chief Minister, Minister Jails and the IG Jails must take action against Samiullah Khan and provide the couple with protection.
