KARACHI: (Christian Times) – Christian leaders on Sunday strongly condemned the illegal occupation of the offices and land of Pakistan’s largest charity organisation Edhi Foundation by the land mafia.

The Catholic leaders demanded that the federal government must take notice of the issue and resolve the issue. St Patrick Cathedral Church Karachi’s minister Father Mario Rodriguez announced that if the case wasn’t resolved within a month, it’ll be taken up at the meeting with the provincial officials next month.

Father Rodriguez also expressed concern over the condemnation by certain provincial ministers over appointing non-Muslim drivers in Edhi ambulance service. It is pertinent to mention here that Father Rodriguez is one of the four pastors who had attended Edhi’s funeral.

Moreover, head of the association of Catholic pastors of Pakistan Father Emanuel Yousuf Mani has demanded that the federal and provincial governments must do everything in order to get Edhi foundation’s land freed from the land mafia. He said that the Christian community wholeheartedly supported the helper of the poor Edhi Foundation.
